Management (CAPM®) Exam Preparation (2 Days) Course Description:
According to the Project Management Institute (PMI®), “candidates for the CAPM credential contribute to projects as subject matter experts and team members. They may also serve as project sponsors, facilitators, liaisons or coordinators.” The CAPM candidate must document either educational history (a minimum of 23 hours of project management instruction), or practical project management experience (1,500 hours). Finally, candidates must take and pass a 3 hour, 150 question CAPM certification exam. This course is intended to help you prepare for PMI’s CAPM Exam. (Note that the course is designed to help students pass the exam, and not to provide detailed instruction in project management.) Courseware from RMC Project Management, considered by many to be the best in the business, provides a thorough overview of the key project management principles and formulas that are needed to pass the exam, along with test taking tips. Throughout the two day course, students will answer sample test questions and participate in other exercises. It is ideal for busy professionals who want to pass the exam as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Intended Audience:
PMI notes that eligible candidates are those who “are responsible for individual project tasks in their area of expertise (e.g., finance, marketing, legal, customer care, market research, fulfillment, processing). The responsibility does not need to be industry specific, but must be relevant across many functional areas and industries.”
Prerequisites:
It is strongly recommended that students take the three-day Introduction to PMI’s “A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) prior to taking this course. (The three-day PMBOK course will count as 24 contact hours.)
